Since the down turn of the economy many people feel it is the over use of credit cards to blame. I do feel that they may be partly to blame, but its not the credit cards themselves. Really its the individuals using them. So you may start to believe that paying for everything with cash is best. So which is really better? Cash or Credit?
When you purchase things with cash, its true, you have no bills to follow. You have paid for the item or items and own them with no worry of having to pay for it later on. Many people live by the idea of cash and avoid any kind of credit there is, and that may work for them, but its not always the best way. When you carry enough cash on you to pay for items that you may need that day or week, you run the risk of losing it. Once cash is gone, its gone!! You may also have to take an increased number of trips to the bank to replenish your funds as well. I know in my life, the fewer times I go to the bank, the better. Cash doesn’t leave a paper trail either. When you make a purchase all you have proving it is the receipt. So what if you lose that receipt. You now have no way of proving that you paid for something, which could pose a problem if you were to ever need to have it repaired or lost. Cash has its benefits, but it also has many cons.
Credit cards can get you over your head in debt if you let it. Its about being a responsible spender. If you purchase items that you can pay off in a reasonable amount of time, you won’t have to worry about getting in over your head. Credit cards are great for those emergency situations like needing unexpected auto repairs. Also you have better proof of your purchases. If you lose a receipt, many times you can call the credit card company and obtain a copy of the purchase. The best reason to make purchases with a credit card is in those cases when you make a purchase and have been ripped off. Today with businesses going under, you need to be careful. If you make a deposit on something and then the business goes under, you still can get your money back when using a credit card. Had you used cash, you would have been out of luck.
So you can decide for yourself, which is better. If you know that you can not control your spending, then maybe cash is a better choice, but if you have any will power, credit cards are definitely the best choice.

I started working at my current employer Horizon back in 2004. I left Ofwat in the December of 2003 and started my new employment in the January. To begin with it took me a while to find my feet, but starting a new division within a company is never easy and it was a lot of hard work. Just getting the basic structure in place and the procedures of the business it very difficult, but at the same time it is very rewarding seeing something that you have started progress in a successful manner.
It was initially started by me and David and approximately 6 months into the project a salesman called Mark also joined. Within the first 12 months we had achieved numerous prestigious contracts and in turn had to employ various new Engineers and purchase a lot more company vehicles.
The company distributes and services both water coolers and the odd drinking fountain from various sites within the UK. The head office is based in Walsall within the West Midlands and there are Technical Support depots in both Wakefield and London supplying spares. The coverage of a national network is very difficult to coordinate, but is conducted in a very effective and efficient manner. Everything is centrally coordinated and all individuals are kept informed on all important issues. It is key within an industry to communicate and it certainly helps working closely with your colleagues and even more so if you get along well. We are all fortunate at Horizon that we all work together really well and the results speak for themselves.

In this age of the global economy our children will be competing for the best jobs with children from other nations. The problem with this model is that while our kids play video games and watch televsion, the children from other nations are reading books and doing math. How can we teach essential math skills to our children in this brave new age? The web site math comic strips thinks it has the answer, and we would like to review it in this article.
They have just released their flagship item, a comic book entitled “The Innovative Dr. Knowledge”. Now this is not any old comic book…the main purpose of this comic is to help motivate kids to have a heathy respect for math, and to learn to implement it.
Dr. Knowledge used to be a kid…in many ways just like the kids of today. He wasn’t interested in studying or learning. The desire to do math was way down on his “to do” list.
Through a series of adventures he finds himself as a youth trapped on a deserted island. He must learn to read books and do math in order to protect himself, but that is another story.
Eventually he is rescued from the island, and once back on the mainland he learns that he is RICH. How and why we will leave for another article, but suffice it to say that he uses this money to continue his education and pursue his dreams.
Soon he comes to realize that he is called to a greater purpose…to solve problems and crimes on behalf of mankind. This is where his math skills really shine. This comic not only relays a story, but shows the intricate math equations and problems that our hero is forced to solve.
Their desire is to help motivate kids to learn and study math. Won’t you help them in their lofty goal?
