Atherstones Drinking fountain

I play football for Sutton Coldfield Town FC in The Zamaretto Midland football league.  The league covers central England down as far as Burnham and across as far as Sudbury.  It is a semi-professional league with many players playing who haven’t made it as professionals and have been released from league clubs.  In addition there are also ex professionals looking to earn a few pounds in the lower leagues as they get older.

We have recently been doing well as a team and are currently lying 6th in the league, one place outside of the playoffs.  On Saturday we played atherstone who have recently sacked their manager and lay a place behind us in the league.  Sutton began bright enough and against a very young Atherstone team began to boss the game. James Quiggin was first to have a crack at goal when he shot from some distance only to see the ball flash past the post. This was followed by a far better effort from Craig Owen that saw Nathan Smith in the opponents goal pull off a great save and tip the effort over the crossbar.

It was all Sutton but Atherstone were battling to stay in touch and not giving any ground. Another shot from Owen cutting in from the left just passed the wrong side of the post with the keeper beaten. Then a great chance fell to Jamille Matt but he scuffed his shot which still managed to hit the foot of the post and was cleared to safety. The next shot came from some way out when Scott Stamps tried a long range effort. Sutton were doing everything but score and another goalmouth scramble from a corner ended when Ed Booth’s shot was tipped over the bar by the keeper. Within minutes Owen broke loose and unleashed a fierce shot which cannoned off the crossbar and was scrambled to safety

At halftime the players all had a drink from the drinking fountain and the second half began with the best chance of the game when Ball was put through one on one with the keeper but shot straight at him. It was almost inevitable that with all the pressure and nothing to show for it Sutton would concede the first goal of the game and it was not long in coming. On the 50th minute a free kick wide on the right was floated over the defence and no one picked up Tom Guiney who stole in at the far post and his diving header found the back of the net this was Atherstone’s first real attempt on goal.

Sutton threw on an extra attacker to try to get the goal that had eluded them all afternoon and within minutes of coming on Craig Marshall had the keeper making yet another of a string of fine saves to keep the ball out of his net.

This was a familiar story of creating lots of chances but being unable to put one away..

Genuine Cases And The Results Of PPI Compensation

A questionnaire by the Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB), published in September 2005 observed that 85 per cent of individuals that had tried to make use of their PPI policy had been unsuccessful and had his or her request turned down. Although possibly not really normal or representative of the larger view the CAB studies make salutary studying.People wanting to make PPI claims may discover the following cases useful in guidance with assessing the suitability of cover and the actual risks of either deliberate or unintentional non-compliance with the small print!Mrs T from London expressed that she was encouraged to take out insurance coverage when she took out a loan. When she hesitated over this the ‘helpful’ consultant recommended it would likely be a excellent idea ‘just in case’. Currently she is pregnant and unsurprisingly, is definitely not protected for maternity leave.Mrs V from Essex made her mortgage loan cover claim following being made redundant from her very well paid employment having made installments for three years. She duly signed on with the Job centre as a condition of her insurance policy although she believed it unrealistic that she would get a job as nicely paid as her previous position. This turned out to be the case and following three months her Job centre advisor insisted she take a placement as a Filing Clerk. Mrs V regarded this type of employment intolerable and unsurprisingly ended going to the job centre and was as a result unable to pursue her claim.Mr S from Eastbourne along with his better half had mortgage insurance plan on a £200,000 mortgage loan. Mr S lost his occupation but was incapable to meet the criteria for Job seekers allowance because his assets were way too excessive. Having paid £60 per month for security which didn’t materialise, Mr S stated he felt swindled.A self-employed male from London was careful to tick the appropriate boxes, read a PPI Compensation guide and illustrate due diligence in putting in his very best to make sure he met the requirements for cover. When fresh employment dried up for him he tried to make a claim, just to be told he would have to declare himself bankrupt before he would certainly be eligible. Mr T took out a house loan in 1989 and his broker set up PPI with the mortgage lender for him as a self-employed companion in business. Mr T especially asked if he would likely be covered as a self-employed person and was advised of course. The business failed, he attempted to make a claim but was told the small print expressed it only insured people who were claiming lack of employment benefit.
