Teddies For All Tastes
When you’re accessing all lingerie, the all around hands down favorite has to be the teddy. Teddies are available in hundreds of different styles, colors and designs. They can be worn under clothing to provide the wearer with a sense of inner sexiness or they can be worn alone for that special evening rendezvous. This flirty type of lingerie can be frilly and lacy or even made out of leather for a stronger more assertive statement. What exactly is a teddy you may be asking yourself? It combines a camisole and the underwear into one piece. Other names for this sexy but sweet type of lingerie include envelope chemise or camiknickers. Camiknickers became the name back during the 20s when you combined a girl’s knickers with a camisole. They increased in popularity during the 20s as a great alternative under the short dresses. As the 40s came along, they were became the rage again because women were wearing pants to work and these could be worn under trousers. History tells us they faded into obscurity after the war until the 1990s when they re-emerged in the ladies lingerie departments everywhere under the name of teddies.
As mentioned, there are several different types of teddies available in the marketplace today. First you’ll find the bareback teddy. Simply put, it’s a teddy with an open back. Usually, this model will have a strap or two to provide some support so that a bra need not be worn and you preserve the look of a bare back. Next, you have a body briefer teddy. This is a more form fitting teddy that smooths out the bulges so to speak. it’s a simpler design and material than most of the other types of lingerie. The fashion top teddy is one of the most popular types and most widely sold. It can be simple or elaborate and may even have sequins, crystals or beads on it. It usually combines the top with a thin strip type undergarment and the top may look more like a bra combined with a top.
Whatever your taste from sultry to sweet, teddies are available to fit the bill. Be daring, try something new and surprise the loved one with something new.
