The Bachmann Branchline
Model railways have become an interesting hobby for many people that love collecting something unique. These people tend to build huge model tracks that become the center of what eventually grows into a huge village that showcases the railroad that runs throughout the entire community. People do not just enjoy building these communities, but rather there are many folks who love to take their kids to a model trail show and let them look at the cool villages. One of the most important aspects of the model train community is the actual train that runs through it. At the forefront of the model train industry is the bachmann branchline, the most famous version of a model train.
The bachmann branchline has a rich history in the model train industry that goes all the way back to the 1830’s when the bachmann company was formed in the United States. It is now based primarily in China for manufacturing purposes, however, the historical and founding offices are still located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bachmann has become the world’s largest model train company by volume and is known for the bachmann branchline as its signature model.
Since 2006 the bachmann branchline has been renewed to include Digital Command Control (DCC), which is the newest technological advancement in model trains. The inclusion of DCC on board the branchline allows for much more simple wiring of the train tracks and for independent control of the trains on the same electrical section of the track. This basically allows for two trains running on the same electrical wiring to be run separately, whereas in the past for two trains to run at the same time, it required for them to be wired completely separate, making the process much more difficult.
The bachmann branchline is a great train for any model railway that has kept up with technological advancements, yet has not lost the great values found in the history of model train cars and also in the bachmann company itself. It is a great, high quality train that can be used for numerous situations and is highly recommended for whatever model train system you are currently running.
