Cancer may bring you down but you can fight your way up
Working is very important. The state encourages people to work. They are people however who are not able to work. These people are either disabled or are suffering from diseases that make them unable to work. This people are provided for by the state incapacity benefit. One such person is Thomas Edwards. He was taken ill two years ago and since them he has not been able to work. He used to work in an engineering firm as a consultant. He worked there for five years until he was diagnosed with cancer. This came as a shock to many as he was known as a healthy person. No one was keen on what he ate like him, he also went to the gym everyday. Due ti the heavy costs incurred because of his medical bills. His family began applied to start claiming incapacity benefit for Thomas. The state approved and they began claiming benefit. Thomas continued receiving medication for his ailment. He had support from his friends and family thus making his recovery quick. Once the doctor had told him that he had only six months to live. Edward decided that he would not go by what the doctors say. He stayed positive and now it has been well over six months. He hopes to make a full recovery and resume work. The benefit he got has helped ease the cost of the medical bills from the family. His workplace also helped him to pay some of the bills. He says that when he gets better he will join the campaign to create awareness of cancer and also to help those people who are suffering from it.
