Low Calorie Diet Foods To Eat

January 25th, 2010

When you hear the words low calorie diet you may be inclined to think that this means you have to eat lettuce and such, but this is not our approach.  When we say low calorie we are talking about the “accumulative” calories…that is what needs to be low.

Let’s explain a bit further with an example.  If there was such a thing as a 1500 calorie olive, you would lose weight if you ate only one olive per day.  This is true because for most people, they can lose weight if they consume 1500 calories or less.  While this may look good on paper, it is not a very good idea in the long run.  Why is that?

The reason is that an olive does not have all the nutrients you will need as you implement your exercise routine.  You need to have proteins, carbs, oils, etc. in order to replenish your system as it breaks down from exercise.  An olive just does not have it all.

In addition, in order to stick on the low calorie diet bandwagon you should eat numerous meals throughout the day.  In this way you will not get too hungry and eat too much all at once.  If you starve yourself and then eat a whole pizza at the end of the day, well, you are just going to be consuming too many calories in which to lose weight.

Slow and steady is the best approach.  Implement a good exercise and calorie diet, and give it all time to work together.  That is best…
