I will list a number of things that potential burglars want to accomplish and how they might go about getting them done.
The use of security cameras and other safety products are definitely a deterrent, but just keeping your head on straight and doing some common sense things is still the best bet.
How about a guy who goes through the neighborhood with a clipboard or even a rake. Doesn’t look to suspicious but it can sure get this guy the information he just might need to break into your house or car.
How about announcing your vacation on Facebook, just might be the thing these guys need to let them know they should pay you a visit.
The burglar usually always knocks first, if you don’t answer he’ll try the door and guess what, sometimes he hits the jackpot, open door. How about something like the door handle alarm installed and when he uses that door, he will be in for a big surprise.
If you are going to alarm the house, make sure to get something over the kitchen sink and any access to the master bedroom on the second floor if that be the case.
Motion detectors in the most vulnerable areas wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
One thing though, burglars seldom go into the kids room. Something to think about when hiding valuables or have a safe installed.
A thought about that safe, if it isn’t bolted down, they will simply take it with them when they leave.
The are simply some of the things that a burglar won’t tell you about.
