June 22nd, 2010
Going to college is something that most people are doing now days. It seems like it has become a prerequisite in order to find a good job. There is a lot that a person will go through when attending college. It’s a long road from freshman year to graduation. There are all sorts of GDRs that need to be completed, projects completed, and then there is the internship. The internship is probably one of the most exciting things for a college student to go through. One thing that has become really popular is international internships. There are many benefits to interning in other countries, and this article will discuss those benefits.
A lot people grow up in a town, go to college in the same state, and then find a job near home. They never get to see the world, and that is a shame. Most of the time the cause of this is money. It costs a lot of money to go to an out-of-state college, and it costs a lot of money and stress to move somewhere new. However, international internships solves these problems. They allow a person to travel, and the intern is paid while they are there. Also, it is only for a short time, so the stress of moving entirely is off the shoulders of the intern.
Not a lot of people go on international internships. This is exactly why it can make a person’s resume look very impressive. Companies are impressed with people willing to go do all sorts of things instead of always taking the usual path. Going to another country to intern will definitely spice up a resume and help a person get a job.
In today’s world companies are doing business in many countries around the world. There are many other cultures and languages in the world, and a company will have to deal with those when dealing in other countries. People who go on international internships get the experience of living and dealing in other cultures and possibly learning another language. This also looks good on a resume and can help one get hired. I hope this article has been beneficial to those wondering if going on an international internship would be a good idea.
